SARS-CoV-2 IgM/IgG Antibody Test Kit
Overview
SARS-CoV-2 IgM/IgG Antibody Test Kit
(Colloidal Gold Method)
The SARS-CoV-2 IgM/IgG Antibody Test Kit is for the qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2 IgM/IgG antibody in human serum, plasma or whole blood sample.
Background
The novel coronavirus belong to the β genus. COVID-19 is an acute respiratory infectious disease. People are generally susceptible. Currently, the patients infected by the novel coronavirus are the main source of infection; asymptomatic infected people can also be an infectious source. Based on the current epidemiological investigation, the incubation period is 1 to 14 days, mostly 3 to 7 days. The main manifestations include fever, fatigue and dry cough. Nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, myalgia and diarrhea are found in a few cases.
Product Features
l Rapid detection within 15-20 minutes

Result Interpretation
Virology
Serology | Viral testing (+) | Viral testing (-) |
IgM (-) IgG (-) | The patient is in the window period of novel coronavirus serological testing, specific antibodies in the immune system have not yet been produced. | The patient likely have never had a COVID-19 infection. |
IgM (+) IgG (-) | The patient is currently in the early stages of novel coronavirus infection. | There is a great probability that the novel coronavirus infection is in the acute phase. At this time, the accuracy of the nucleic acid test results need to be considered, and it's necessary to confirm whether the patient has other types of diseases. Positive or weak positive cases of IgM in patients caused by rheumatoid factor have been found. |
IgM (-) IgG (+) | Patients may be in the middle or advanced stages of novel coronavirus infection or recurrent infection. | Patients may have a previous infection but have already recovered or the virus has been cleared from the body. The IgG produced by the immune response is maintained for a long time and can be detected in the blood sample. |
IgM (+) IgG (+) | The patient is in the active phase of viral infection, but the human body has developed immunity to the novel coronavirus. | The patient has recently been infected with novel coronavirus, and the body is currently in the recovery phase, but the virus has been removed from the body and the IgM antibody has not been lowered to the limit of detection; or the nucleic acid test may have a false negative result and the patient is actually in the active infection phase.
